What tests might the doctor do?
Diagnostic tests to find the cause of diarrhea include the following:

  • Medical history and physical examination
  • Stool culture
  • Blood tests
  • Fasting tests
  • Sigmoidoscopy
  • Colonoscopy

What is the treatment?
In most cases, replacing lost fluid to prevent dehydration is the only treatment necessary. Medicines that stop diarrhea may be helpful in some cases, but they are not recommended for people whose diarrhea is caused by a bacterial infection or parasite—stopping the diarrhea traps the organism in the intestines, prolonging the problem. Instead, doctors usually prescribe antibiotics. Viral causes are either treated with medication or left to run their course, depending on the severity and type of the virus.

Preventing Dehydration
Dehydration occurs when the body has lost too much fluid and electrolytes (the salts potassium and sodium). The fluid and electrolytes lost during diarrhea need to be replaced promptly—the body cannot function properly without them. Dehydration is particularly dangerous for children, who can die from it within a matter of days.

Although water is extremely important in preventing dehydration, it does not contain electrolytes. To maintain electrolyte levels, you could have broth or soups, which contain sodium, and fruit juices, soft fruits, or vegetables, which contain potassium. For children, doctors often recommend a special re-hydration solution that contains the nutrients they need. You can buy this solution in the grocery store without a prescription.

The Role of Mangosteen
One of the unfortunate effects of aging is the natural decline in stomach acid. This change in pH concentration causes a proliferation of bacteria in the stomach that leads to diarrhea, constipation and malabsorption of nutrients, among others. According to several studies, wherein scientists exposed growing colonies of bacteria to solutions of mangosteen, the xanthones in mangosteen juice actually stopped the bacteria from growing, thereby restoring pH balance and improving nutrient absorption. Active against gastrointestinal (GI) pathogens, mangosteen juice is also used to reduce the inflammation in the intestines, which causes the loss of essential nutrients and body fluids into the stool.

Probably the most widely used form of treatment for GI diseases by folk healers in Southeast Asia, mangosteen is hailed as the ‘queen of the anti-microbials” for its natural ability to kill bacteria.

Xanthone Juice™ is the first and only dietary product with the highest xanthone content.
Manufactured in North America, under the strictest guidelines of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, it is made up of only the highest quality mangosteen mixed with delicious fruits and extracts.

The first commercial product in the Philippines using the whole mangosteen fruit, Xanthone Juice’s concentrated formula allows for more of xanthones’ health benefits with smaller doses -maximizing dosage efficiency while providing options for stronger dosaging when deemed necessary. Since the xanthones in mangosteen are  fat-soluble, Xanthone Juice should be taken with a meal or snack, either just before, during, or after eating, to allow for maximum absorption.

We at Xanthone Juice Corp. are dedicated to forwarding the cause of natural health and healing that is based on hard and exacting science. We hope you enjoy the special formulation we prepare in our North American facility.
