GARCINONE E, a xanthone derivative has been proven to kill cancer cells in a laboratory study in November 2002 at the National Research Institute of Chinese Medicine in Taiwan. The study done was primarily for liver cancer, stomach cancer and lung cancer. The GARCINONE E's ability in killing cancer cells was surprising. This xanthone was also compared to 6 anti-cancer drugs already in use. GARCINONE E was found to be more effective in killing cancer cells than all the 5 other drugs (except for one) in the study. |
